Marcela Michelle is the Artistic Director of 20% Theatre Company, where she has also worked as a producer, director, curator, and actor. She has produced, presented, or performed for Queertopia, Patrick's Cabaret, Gamut Gallery, The Guthrie Theatre, The Minnesota Museum of American Art, Pangea World Theatre, Dykes Do Drag, Black Hearts Burlesque, and Walker Art Center, where she also facilitates workshops for their Teen Takeover program. Marcela is a selected artists for Red Eye Theatre's Works in Progress 2020, the rehearsal director for Taja Will's new work Blood Language, one of the Artistic Producers of Lightning Rod, and was a mentee in Art2Action and Pangea World Theatre's National Institute for Directing and Ensemble Creation 2019. She has spoken on gender, sexuality, and performance at Hamline University, The University of Minnesota, Mixed Blood Theatre, and with several blogs. She has been a guest lecturer at The University of Minnesota (Dance Production) and Augsburg University (Latinx Performance).
